Francesca Müller

About

I enjoy working closely with clients in a collaborative way, developing clear concepts that guide the creative direction of surfaces with precision.

Thoughtful Process

A thoughtful process underpins every stage of my work. Each step is considered, from initial research and concept development to material choices and final execution. This approach ensures that the projects are grounded, coherent with the needs of both client and space.

Francesca Müller

– a name that combines two cultures and opposites. The creativity from her Italian and the order from her German side. She speaks both languages fluently.

Francesca’s material-focused studio, based in Amsterdam, offers a distinct advisory perspective in developing unique surfaces for both soft and hard finishes: from carpets and wallpapers to textiles and ceramic tiles. Her work is guided by a deep understanding of each material’s possibilities and constraints, paired with a commitment to storytelling that draws on the contrasts and dualities found in everyday life.

… the design process

This process begins with a briefing, sometimes developed further through a workshop, followed by a thorough research that grounds the direction. From there, a concept takes shape and grows into a compelling narrative. The design phase brings the ideas to life, and the work concludes with careful refinement to ensure coherence.
